Arthur set this Garden of Eden in the landscape of the Southwestern United States
and combined Adam and Eve into one androgynous figure. The serpent weaves in near the right hand of the figure. Other symbols are also represented as one views the painting: cactus in bloom, apples, snakes, luscious innocence.
